The Can Tanca house is currently under construction in Ibiza and aims to earn Passivhaus Premium and BREEAM Exceptional certifications, making it the first home in the world to achieve both designations.
The home features a solar energy system installation at the top, which allows it to operate off the grid. The house also features a system capable of storing energy, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply, even on days with little sunlight.
The energy demand This home is less than 30 kWh/m²a. The Can Tanca house will also be able to be self-sufficient in water, as it has a system capable of collecting and treating rainwater.
Those who have contributed to the development of the project have stated that this home reduces heating and cooling needs by 80% compared to homes with similar characteristics. This is achieved by adding wood-fiber insulation, double- or triple-glazed windows, and other techniques that ensure a high level of airtightness.
This home has a floor area of 210 square meters and despite being environmentally friendly, it offers a high level of interior comfort.
