The viaduct over the Arnoia River spans the river from which it takes its name (the Arnoia River) in the municipality of Baños de Molgas, Ourense, and is part of Spain’s Madrid-Galicia high-speed rail line.
This viaduct, which has a pointed arch, features a about 1,014 meters long, approximately, and its construction was divided into two parts, the first spanning more than 800 meters, divided into 11 spans, and built on site, and the second spanning 212 meters and consisting of a deck of prefabricated trough beams.
One of the most difficult phases was that of Collapse of the concrete pointed arch, requiring each of its constituent parts to be tilted at an angle of about 41 degrees. Auxiliary braces were used to carry out this operation. The construction was divided into 12 work phases.
