Dubai World Central is one of the largest and most innovative urban development projects currently underway in the world. Covering an area of 140 square kilometers and centered around Al Maktoum International Airport—the plan’s main hub—the project comprises seven functional districts: logistics, aviation, humanitarian, residential, exhibition, commercial, and recreational.
The emirate continues to invest in its future and develop the infrastructure needed to keep growing and diversifying its economy. Along with Port Rashid and the Dubai Metro, this new airport city—or «aerotropolis»—is a continuation of that legacy. The airport, with the first of its five runways fully operational since 2013, will reach an annual capacity of 12 million metric tons of cargo and 160 million passengers. The second phase calls for the construction of three additional cargo terminals, two of which will be automated.
Its strategic location and proximity to the Port of Jebel Ali and the rail network make this project a true multimodal and logistics hub with exceptional connectivity and efficiency.
