Who was Zaha Hadid?
The renowned Anglo-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, was born on October 31, 1950, in Baghdad, Iraq. She earned a degree in mathematics before studying at the Architectural Association in London. In 1979, he opened his own studio in this city: Zaha Hadid Architects.
It was considered one of the the greatest female architects from around the world, and his dedication and hard work throughout his professional career have earned him worldwide recognition.

His worldwide recognition has been reflected in numerous awards, such as the Mies van der Rohe, or the Praemium Imperiale, among many others. Zaha Hadid was also the first woman to win the highest honor in the world of architecture, the Pritzker Prize.

Puente Pavilion
This bridge is located in Zaragoza, spanning the Ebro River in Spain; it was designed and built for Expo 2008. With a length of 280 meters, this bridge served as the entrance to the exposition. The spectacular design features a pavilion that doubles as an access bridge to the exhibition complex. This structure, designed and built for the 2008 International Exposition, is 280 meters long.
Aquatics Center for the 2012 London Olympic Games
The aquatic center has a capacity of 17,500 spectators and was designed by this architect for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
MAXXI Museum
This magnificent architectural masterpiece is located in Rome, Italy, and covers an area of approximately 27,000 square meters. The project’s most striking features are undoubtedly its complex shapes, curved walls, variations in height, and natural lighting throughout its galleries.
Gallery Soho
This mixed-use complex is located in the center of China's capital, Beijing, and stands 67 meters tall.
Sunrise Tower
This building, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is 280 meters tall and is designed for various uses—residential, office, retail, parking, etc.—spanning an area of 150,000 square meters.
The Danjiang Bridge
One of the architect's most recent designs was this bridge in Taipei, Taiwan, which, at 920 meters long, will minimize its visual impact through the use of a single 175-meter-tall mast—thin enough not to disrupt the landscape, yet without causing any structural problems.
