The Government of Cantabria\u2019s Water Supply and Sanitation Plan (PAS) will invest more than 24 million euros in 92 water infrastructure projects in the Saja-Nansa region. Of this total, 15,346,142 euros will be allocated to 63 sanitation projects, and the remaining 8,759,693 euros will go toward 29 water supply projects.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
This was reported by the Government of Cantabria in a press release, in which it stated that the Regional Minister of the Environment, Land Use Planning, and Urban Development, Javier Fern\u00e1ndez, continued his information tour on Monday in Cabez\u00f3n de la Sal as part of a series of visits to ten regions of Cantabria to explain what the investment will be used for and how the nearly 400 million euros allocated under the PAS will be spent. <\/p>\n
Specifically, he explained that 24,105,835 euros will be invested in the Saja-Nansa region, of which more than 15 million will be allocated to 63 sanitation projects and nearly 9 million to 29 water supply projects.<\/p>\n
The goal of the construction projects is to give \u00abpeace of mind to residents because the government will take each and every one of them into account,\u00bb the regional minister stated. He also thanked the mayors for their commitment and the technical staff at the regional ministry and in the municipalities for their work.<\/p>\n
For his part, the deputy director general of Water highlighted that spending on water infrastructure projects\u2014which averages 670 euros per capita in the plan\u2014rises to just over 1,000 euros in this region.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the mayor of Cabez\u00f3n, Esther Merino, has acknowledged\u2014on behalf of all the mayors in this region\u2014the efforts and sensitivity shown by the regional ministry. She also emphasized that in this consensus-based document, \u00abthere are no longer first-, second-, or third-class citizens.\u00bb.<\/p>\n
The Cantabria Water Supply and Sanitation Plan, which is expected to be approved this February, calls for an investment of 394,740,275 euros in 1,315 projects, which will resolve the region\u2019s problems in these areas, according to the regional government.<\/p>\n
In addition to Merino, the presentation of the PAS was attended by the mayors of Cabu\u00e9rniga, Gabriel G\u00f3mez; Herrer\u00edas, Francisco Linares; Lamas\u00f3n, Luis \u00c1ngel Ag\u00fceros; Mazcuerras, Celestino Fern\u00e1ndez; Pe\u00f1arrubia, Secundino Caso; Rionansa, Jos\u00e9 Miguel G\u00f3mez; Ruente, Jaime Molleda; and Los Tojos, Bel\u00e9n Ceballos. The mayors of Reoc\u00edn, Miguel Garc\u00eda Cayuso; Tudanca, Manuel Grande; and Polaciones, Teodoro Ruiz, were unable to attend.<\/p>\n
INVESTMENT BY MUNICIPALITY<\/p>\n
In Cabez\u00f3n de la Sal, 1,650,000 euros will be invested in five water supply projects and 1,470,000 euros in six sewerage projects; in Cabu\u00e9rniga, four wastewater treatment projects totaling 5,771,167 euros will be undertaken; and in Herrer\u00edas, three water supply projects totaling 188,547 euros and nine wastewater treatment projects totaling 886,538 euros will be carried out.<\/p>\n
In Lamas\u00f3n, one water supply project costing 160,000 euros and five wastewater treatment projects costing 1,670,000 euros are planned; in Mazcuerras, a water supply project costing 120,000 euros and two sewerage projects with a budget of 1,300,000 euros; and in Pe\u00f1arrubia, a water supply project worth 155,000 euros and four sewerage projects totaling 292,089 euros.<\/p>\n
In the municipality of Polaciones, the Government of Cantabria will carry out 11 water supply projects, in which it will invest 875,000 euros, and another 11 wastewater treatment projects with a budget of 700,000 euros; in Reoc\u00edn, two water supply projects totaling 4,843,441 euros and seven wastewater treatment projects totaling 1,600,000 euros; and in Rionansa, seven wastewater treatment projects totaling 1,430,000 euros will be undertaken.<\/p>\n
As for Ruente, three water supply projects totaling 442,000 euros and four sewerage projects totaling 6,081,168 euros will be carried out; while in Los Tojos, the investment will go toward two water supply projects, with a budget of 226,005 euros, and five wastewater treatment projects, in which 556,345 euros will be invested.<\/p>\n
Finally, two projects will be carried out in Tudanca. One is a water supply project, with a budget of 99,700 euros, and the other is a sewer system project, with a budget of 155,000 euros.<\/p>\n
