Actualmente, este proyecto es considerado uno de los de mayor envergadura en el norte del continente americano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.structuralia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/nuevopuentechamplain1-5.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"330\" alt=\"nuevopuentechamplain1\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"  \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.1599998474121px; line-height: 1.3em;\">La estructura actual, que fue inaugurada en el 1962, durante muchos a\u00f1os ha sido considerada una de las m\u00e1s importantes de todo el pa\u00eds, ya que ha soportado un gran volumen de tr\u00e1fico, aproximadamente de unos 40 millones de veh\u00edculos al a\u00f1o. Adem\u00e1s, es uno de los accesos a la isla de Montreal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.1599998474121px; line-height: 1.3em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.structuralia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/nuevopuentechamplain3-5.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" alt=\"nuevopuentechamplain3\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"  \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sin embargo, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os el puente requer\u00eda de una gran inversi\u00f3n para su mantenimiento, por lo que, tras varios a\u00f1os de estudio, el gobierno federal tom\u00f3 la decisi\u00f3n en 2011 de que la estructura fuera reemplazada por una nueva.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El Nuevo Puente Champlain tendr\u00e1\u00a0<strong style=\"font-size: 12.1599998474121px; line-height: 15.8079996109009px; text-align: justify;\">3,4 kil\u00f3metros de longitud<\/strong>, por los que discurrir\u00e1n tres calzadas con varios carriles, dos de ellas para la circulaci\u00f3n de veh\u00edculos y una tercera destinada exclusivamente el transporte p\u00fablico. Incluye tambi\u00e9n una v\u00eda para bicicletas y para peatones. En su dise\u00f1o, que persigue un concepto minimalista, los ingenieros y arquitectos han decidido que en el centro de la estructura se dispondr\u00e1 un soporte del que saldr\u00e1n los tirantes del puente.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.structuralia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/nuevopuentechamplain-8.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"294\" alt=\"nuevopuentechamplain\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"  \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El proyecto incluye tambi\u00e9n las obras de mejora de varios tramos de la autopista que transita por el puente.
