Este puente es el m\u00e1s antiguo de los dos que cruzan el Tajo en esta ciudad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este puente colgante cuenta con una longitud de 2.277 metros, con un vano principal de algo m\u00e1s de un kil\u00f3metro. La altura de sus dos torres es de unos 190 metros. En su construcci\u00f3n se emplearon unas <strong>73.000 toneladas de acero y 263.000 metros c\u00fabicos de hormig\u00f3n<\/strong>, aproximadamente.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.structuralia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/25abril1-5.jpg\" alt=\"25abril1\" width=\"600\" height=\"334\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 1px solid #000000;\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En el momento de su construcci\u00f3n el puente dispon\u00eda de cuatro carriles para la circulaci\u00f3n de veh\u00edculos, ampli\u00e1ndose posteriormente a seis y a\u00f1adiendo en la parte inferior de la carretera un tablero para la circulaci\u00f3n de trenes, siendo necesaria la incorporaci\u00f3n de nuevos cables para sostener la estructura.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La construcci\u00f3n de este puente comenz\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o 1962, terminando cuatro a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, en 1966. El puente del 25 de Abril <strong>se eleva 70 metros sobre el nivel del agua y cuenta con un ancho de 21 m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.structuralia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/25abril2-5.jpg\" alt=\"25abril2\" width=\"600\" height=\"415\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 1px solid #000000;\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El puente es atravesado por unos <strong>150.000 coches y 160 trenes cada d\u00eda.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Es sorprendente la similitud de esta estructura con el puente Golden Gate de San Francisco, ambos est\u00e1n construidos en zonas con riesgo de terremotos.
