Te lo contamos a continuaci\u00f3n&#8230;\u00a1No te lo pierdas!\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ubicado en la desembocadura del r\u00edo Forth, en la que sus aguas se abrazan con las del propio Mar del Norte, encontramos, a escasos metros de la ciudad de Edimburgo, <strong>uno de los<\/strong> <strong>monumentos m\u00e1s reconocibles de Escocia<\/strong> (Reino Unido) y el primer gran puente construido con acero del mundo.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Se trata del puente ferroviario \u00abFirth of Forth\u00bb o \u00abForth Bridge\u00bb, nombrado as\u00ed por ser el primero en construirse sobre este estuario. Su construcci\u00f3n se remonta a <strong>finales del siglo XIX<\/strong> y su proyecto se encomend\u00f3 a\u00a0John Fowler y <strong>Benjamin Baker<\/strong>, de quien hablaremos m\u00e1s adelante. Por ahora, centr\u00e9monos en algunas de sus caracter\u00edsticas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.structuralia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Firth2-5.jpg\" alt=\"Firth2\" width=\"600\" height=\"269\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 1px solid #000000;\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Salva una <strong>longitud total de m\u00e1s de 2.500 metros<\/strong>, divididos en 24 vanos de los que podemos destacar los dos centrales, que sobrevuelan <strong>520 metros cada uno<\/strong> a m\u00e1s de 45 metros de altura sobre la l\u00e1mina de agua.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.structuralia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Firth1-5.jpg\" alt=\"Firth1\" width=\"900\" height=\"69\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 1px solid #000000;\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Como se observa en la imagen anterior, sus pilas materializan unas perfectas m\u00e9nsulas que introducen uno de los conceptos m\u00e1s revolucionarios de la \u00e9poca en la construcci\u00f3n de grandes puentes: <strong>el cantilever o voladizo\u00a0<\/strong>ideado por B.
