Esta interconexi\u00f3n recibe el nombre de Western Link.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.structuralia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/escocia1-5.jpg\" alt=\"escocia1\" width=\"400\" height=\"481\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"  \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De esta manera, se podr\u00e1 utilizar la energ\u00eda procedente de fuentes renovables generada en Escocia, mejorando el suministro el\u00e9ctrico en Reino Unido e impulsando el consumo de la energ\u00eda procedente de fuentes limpias. Gracias a este transporte de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica se conseguir\u00e1 alimentar a m\u00e1s de 4 millones de viviendas cada a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este cable el\u00e9ctrico tendr\u00e1 un<strong> tramo submarino de unos 385 kil\u00f3metros (770 al tratarse de un cable bidireccional)<\/strong> y <strong>33 de cable subterr\u00e1neo<\/strong> en el Wirral. El cable, en la mayor parte de la ruta, estar\u00e1 enterrado a una profundidad de 1,5 metros por debajo del lecho marino.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El <strong>proyecto bidireccional<\/strong> ofrece la ventaja de poder modificar la circulaci\u00f3n de la corriente en funci\u00f3n de las necesidades y de la demanda el\u00e9ctrica de cada momento.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Existen <strong>dos transformadores<\/strong>, el de Hunsterton, en Escocia, y el de Wirral, en Gales, que son necesarios para transformar la corriente continua en corriente alterna.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La inversi\u00f3n realizada para llevar a cabo esta instalaci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 de unos <strong>1.000 millones de libras,<\/strong> lo que equivale a unos <strong>1.200 millones de euros<\/strong>, aproximadamente.
