The truth is that, as of today, the adoption of this methodology is progressing at a slower pace than expected. But the reality is that certain studies of <strong>BIMForum<\/strong> They have revealed that these figures, in the central and southern parts of the continent, will improve in the coming years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">These data show that it will be the most widely used methodology internationally in <strong>the construction industry<\/strong>, as the digital age we live in demands it. That is why today we are going to focus on understanding the situation of <strong>BIM in Colombia<\/strong> with two very interesting projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>BIM in Latin America<\/strong> It has been applied in specific cases for several years; in fact, in 2015, the <strong>BIM Forum LATAM<\/strong> in collaboration with <strong>18 countries throughout the region<\/strong>; unfortunately, the implementation process of the <strong>BIM methodology<\/strong> It is not as uniform as it is among European countries. However, the BIM methodology presents <strong>great potential<\/strong> to drive technological development in the sector. Furthermore, the international dissemination of these types of projects facilitates their acceptance by the construction industry, which is becoming increasingly global.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">At the same time, it can be said that there is a high degree of cohesion within the private sector with the goal of promoting the dissemination and adoption of the <strong>BIM in Colombia<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">One of the <strong>key drivers<\/strong>One of the organizations responsible for implementing the methodology in the country is the Colombian Chamber of Construction itself <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff3b49;\"><a style=\"color: #ff3b49;\" href=\"https:\/\/camacol.co\/\" rel=\"noopener\">CAMACOL<\/a><\/span><\/span>, in collaboration with several nonprofit organizations that work to promote unity and provide training for the professionals in this field, such as: <span style=\"color: #ff3b49;\"><a style=\"font-size: 12px; color: #ff3b49; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/camacol.co\/productividad-sectorial\/digitalizacion\/bim-forum\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">BIM Forum Colombia<\/span><\/a><\/span> and ASOBIM (Colombian BIM Association).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"height: auto; max-width: 100%; width: 437px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; display: block;\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.structuralia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/BIM-mexico-arcus-global-1_opt.jpg\" alt=\"BIM-mexico-arcus-global-1_opt\" width=\"437\" height=\"246\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-style: italic;\">Photo: <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff3b49;\"><a style=\"color: #ff3b49; font-style: italic;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.arcus-global.com\/wp\/en-colombia-el-40-de-las-construcciones-usa-tecnologia-bim\/\">Arcus Global<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 30px; font-weight: bold;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Proyectos_BIM_colombianos\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #b22b3b; font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Colombian BIM Projects<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">As evidence of the progress mentioned above <strong>from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.structuralia.com\/collections\/master-bim\">BIM methodology<\/a> in Colombia<\/strong>, we found that there are two flagship projects currently underway. Both are located in the capital: <span style=\"color: #ff3b49;\">The Atrio Towers<\/span> y <span style=\"color: #ff3b49;\"><a style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff3b49;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.metrodebogota.gov.co\/?q=que-es-metro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bogot\u00e1 Metro Line 1<\/a><\/span> and are presented as an example of the advantages BIM offers over other traditional methods.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-size: 24px; padding-left: 40px;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Torres_Atrio\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff3b49; font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Atrio Towers<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">As one of the examples of BIM in Colombia, <strong>the Atrio Tower<\/strong> It has been designed to be the tallest tower in the Colombian capital. It is a real estate project by the <strong>QBO Group and ARPRO<\/strong> which, in turn, were designed by urban planners <strong>Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners<\/strong>. It is also about <strong>the first building in Colombia<\/strong> which uses a highly complex construction system <strong>SRC<\/strong> (Steel-Reinforced Concrete). Undoubtedly, a prime example for private investors in Colombia, regarding <strong>the new possibilities offered by BIM<\/strong>, and at the same time, the future of <strong>Real estate investments in Latin America<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-size: 24px; padding-left: 40px;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Linea_1_Metro_de_Bogota\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff3b49; font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Line 1 of the Bogot\u00e1 Metro<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Line 1 of the Bogot\u00e1 Metro<\/strong> officially known as <strong>Bogot\u00e1 Metro Line 1 <\/strong>(PLMB) will be the first of its kind in Colombia's capital. This project has <strong>19 stations<\/strong> spread out along<strong> 24 km<\/strong> that begin at Carrera 94 and end at Calle 100. In the process, several computer simulations have been carried out to <strong>various operational parameters<\/strong> and potential drawbacks of building this type of infrastructure in one of the <strong>The 15 Most Congested Cities in the World<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Thanks to these simulations, it has been possible to determine that, contrary to what is usually the case for this <strong>mode of transportation<\/strong>, the best solution is <strong>one square meter<\/strong> at a height of nearly 14 meters, and not underground. This controversial solution will result in <strong>a 28% savings in the budget<\/strong>, and 24 months in terms of implementation time. These conclusions would not have been possible without the methodology <strong>BIM in Colombia<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify; font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Specifically, the technical design was developed by the consortium <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metrodebogota.gov.co\/?q=que-es-metro\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff3b49;\">METROBOGOT\u00c1<\/span><\/span><\/a> which consists of <strong>SYSTRA<\/strong> e <strong>INGETEC<\/strong>. Both organizations have been honored with the award for best BIM infrastructure project at the awards <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cahiers-techniques-batiment.fr\/article\/bim-d-or-2021-decouvrez-les-laureats.53047\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff3b49;\">BIM D\u2019Or<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0of 2018.
