Today, more than 130,000 professionals are actively being trained in more than <strong>1,000 courses<\/strong> in high-demand areas such as: <strong>electric power generation and transmission<\/strong>, <strong>BIM<\/strong>, <strong>new technologies<\/strong>, <strong>Big Data<\/strong>, <strong>software,<\/strong><strong> construction<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lookerstudio.google.com\/s\/n1pyuaItkz4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">among others<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Source: Compiled by the author.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%C2%BFEn_que_se_estan_formando_especialmente_los_ingenieros\"><\/span>What specific areas are engineers focusing on in their training?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the results published in the <a href=\"https:\/\/pharos.structuralia.com\/barometro-empresas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Business Barometer,<\/a> Based on data from professionals who are actively undergoing training through PHAROS, we can highlight that more than 11.3% are receiving training in <strong>Soft Skills<\/strong> which complement a professional's technical skills by providing leadership, active listening, and decision-making abilities. Second is the category of <strong>BIM<\/strong>, which is not surprising, given that it has become a methodology that is practically essential to know and the level of specialization that can be achieved in each of its branches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The third most important category is <strong>Electric power generation and transmission,<\/strong> clearly addressing the existing need for an energy transition toward renewable energy and sustainability, which are also consistent with meeting the objectives of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/es\/energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2030 Agenda<\/a>. It is surprising that, compared to 2022, it maintained its position as a category of interest among professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Source: Compiled by the author based on the results of the Business Barometer.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If we focus on analyzing the specific skills within the \u201cSoft Skills\u201d category in which professionals have been trained, we can identify the following as being of greatest interest <strong>Assertive Communication, Effective Time Management and Professional Effectiveness, and Cooperation for Collaboration.<\/strong> Meanwhile, in the BIM category, the most important courses for engineers\u2014and the ones in highest demand\u2014are: <strong>REVIT Architecture<\/strong>, <strong>Linear Project. On the one hand, in Latin America as well as in Spain, there is high interest in both technical specialties and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">soft skills<\/span>, specifically training in <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Power BI<\/span> y <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Excel<\/span>. It is widely known that in the Spanish region, professionals are receiving training in the generation of renewable energy sources such as: <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">hydrogen<\/span>, or <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Sustainable Development Goals<\/span> In contrast, in Latin America, these fields are not among the most popular courses for professionals. In addition to offering continuing education courses, professionals can enroll in highly specialized master\u2019s programs. The various courses taken at PHAROS can be credited toward master\u2019s programs offered by Structuralia in partnership with its affiliated universities.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;\">If we look at the data once again, the platform\u2019s growth has been remarkable in just six years. In 2018, only three professionals had completed more than three courses eligible for credit toward university master\u2019s degrees. In 2019, that number rose slightly to 14. And since those initial figures, growth has been exponential.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;\">In 2020, a total of 271 users had earned 3 or more credits toward degree requirements. By 2021, that number had tripled to 873, and the figure continued to grow steadily, reaching 1,446 professionals by the end of 2022 who were ready to have their training recognized and enroll in a master\u2019s program.
