State Governor Carlos Lozano de la Torre, during a meeting with Miguel Ángel Romero Navarro, Secretary of Infrastructure and Communications (Sicom), was briefed on the 2015 road projects for which 460 mdp has already been allocated, bringing the total spent in this area alone during the current administration to more than 1,700 mdp by the end of this year.
The state’s chief executive stated that his administration will continue to prioritize the construction and maintenance of road and highway infrastructure, as this is essential to maintaining the state’s status as a logistics hub—not only for companies that require efficient transportation routes to operate effectively, but also as a state with excellent urban mobility.
As a result, an ambitious conservation program for the state highway system has been carried out, along with a comprehensive program to pave streets in the capital and in the 10 municipalities in the interior of the state, which helps improve families’ quality of life.
Through the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Communications (Sicom), and with the participation of local contractors, various road and highway infrastructure projects have been carried out, leading to a substantial improvement in connectivity between municipalities, by providing safe, modern roads that enable residents and goods to be transported from one place to another efficiently and on time.
Similarly, a major program has been carried out to consolidate street paving projects in the state’s municipalities, improving residents’ access to their homes and increasing the value of their property.
To date, more than 1,245 million pesos have been allocated and spent, enabling the construction of overpasses, the widening of state highways, and the paving of streets in the capital and municipalities throughout the state.
The most notable projects carried out to benefit the state’s population include the program for paving, curbs, and sidewalks in the neighborhoods of Los Pericos, La Soledad, and Norias de Ojocaliente, maintenance of the State Highway Network, the modernization of the Aguascalientes-Agostaderito-Tanque de los Jiménez Highway, maintenance of the Cumbres-San Nicolás Highway, and maintenance of the Carboneras-Villa Juárez Highway.
Similarly, the streets of Ciudad Industrial were completely rehabilitated, and the street paving program was implemented in the municipalities of Aguascalientes, Asientos, Calvillo, Cosío, Pabellón de Arteaga, Rincón de Romos, San Francisco de los Romo, San José de Gracia, and Tepezalá; an underpass was built at the intersection of Av. Aguascalientes and Av. de los Maestros; Av. Aguascalientes was rehabilitated; Blvd. Alejandro de la Cruz Boulevard was built in the municipality of Jesús María to complement its first ring road, and the connection between Av. de los Sauces and the Loreto-Zacatecas Highway was completed in the municipality of San Francisco de los Romo.
A budget of more than 461 million pesos has been allocated for this year, bringing the total to more than 1,700 million pesos, although it is estimated that this figure may continue to rise thanks to the state governor’s efforts with the federal government.
Finally, the state’s chief executive said that citizens expect a government that works tirelessly on issues of vital importance, and therefore his administration will maintain a pace of work that ensures the fulfillment of its commitments to the people of Aguascalientes.
