There is a possibility that a footbridge will be built to connect Manhattan and Jersey, which are separated by the Hudson River in the United States, and although the distance as the crow flies is not very great, many residents would like to be able to get from one place to the other on foot or by bicycle.
This walkway would have a 1.5 kilometers long and it would feature different areas: some covered—which would be very useful on rainy days and would be located on the lower level—and other open areas on the upper levels where visitors could enjoy the good weather. In addition, the plan includes a bike lane.
To allow ships to pass through, it would be built to a height of about 60 meters. In addition, the project would include solar panels and wind turbines, which would supply the the necessary electricity in a clean way.
This idea was conceived by a New York resident named Kevin Shane and includes retail spaces, coffee shops, green spaces, benches, and free Wi-Fi. Access to this structure would be via elevators or ramps.
Kevin Shane has already met with the architectural firm Jeff Jordan Architects, which helped design the Dubbed Liberty Bridge.
