Construction continues on Line 3 of the Guadalajara Light Rail system along the project route, with work underway on foundations, an access cut for the tunnel, and diaphragm walls.
Work on the electromechanical systems and rolling stock will be carried out this year.
In addition, according to the Ministry of Communications and Transportation, progress is expected in the installation of steel beams, the arrival and commissioning of the tunnel boring machine, and the construction of stations, which will bring the project’s completion to 40 percent.
In addition, as part of environmental protection measures, work will also begin to replant 15,400 trees of various species to compensate for the affected green areas.
It should be noted that, to date, 51 percent of the right-of-way has been cleared—that is, 21 kilometers out of a total of 41 kilometers.
