The Regional Ministry of Territory and Sustainability will invest 44 million euros this year in safety improvement projects at 121 locations along Catalonia’s road network, in addition to the six million euros invested from mid-2014 to the present at another 74 locations.
The strategy includes various specific projects that will be completed this year at a total cost of 17 million euros on five roads: safety improvements on the N-141 between Anglès and Bescanó, pavement improvements on the GI-555 between Sils and Massanes, drainage work on the C-122 in Tortosa, a roundabout on the C-16c in Sant Fruitós del Bages, and a new roundabout on the C-35 in Sant Celoni.
In addition, 19.8 million will be invested in the installation of median strips on the C-59 in Sant Feliu de Codines, the VB-2041, the C-55 between Castellbell i el Vilar and Manresa, as well as widening work on the C-55 along the Manresa bypass, and other safety improvements on the C-58 and the C-16.
By province, 79 projects are in the Barcelona region, 43 in Girona, 20 in Lleida, and 13 in Tarragona.
