ConFlex Pave is a new ultra-flexible concrete that could revolutionize road construction. ConFlex Pave concrete was developed by the Center for Industrial Infrastructure Innovation at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
This concrete is made in much the same way as conventional concrete, but it also requires the addition of some very fine polymer fibers. This material increases the mixture's flexibility and also significantly improves its skid resistance, eliminating the need for other types of subsequent complementary treatments.
With this concrete, it would be possible to design structures with thinner walls, offering high strength and flexibility. Furthermore, the use of ConFlex Pave precast concrete slabs results in a increased durability of structures.
In addition, the use of these precast concrete slabs would result in significantly reduce the workforce, improving worker safety, and will minimize the duration of the work, while also reducing the need for repairs over the structure's service life.
