This wind farm is being built on the Llera de Canales plateau in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico, and will become the largest wind farm in the northeastern part of the country. Tres Mesas will have a total of 45 wind turbines, with a total capacity of 148.5 MW.
This renewable energy project is divided into two phases: Three Tables I and Three Tables II. The first phase, which has already been completed, involves preparing the access roads to the wind farm and carrying out the necessary excavation work for the turbine foundations. In total, the following will be installed: 45 wind turbines at the Tres Mesas Wind Farm.
It is expected that this wind farm will benefit various communities in the state of Tamaulipas, generating clean, renewable energy to power thousands of homes (energy production equivalent to the annual consumption of 71,000 households) and creating direct and indirect jobs in the area.
The numerous environmental benefits that the construction of this Tres Mesas wind farm will bring are indisputable; they are will improve air quality, is will reduce the demand for fossil fuels y emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere will decrease.
It is estimated that this Mexican wind farm could begin operations in September of this year, 2016.
