The Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge is located in Brazil's capital, Brasília, spanning Lake Paranoá, and upon its inauguration in 2002, it became an icon of this Brazilian city, thanks to its unique structural design.
This facility features three spans, each 240 meters long located in the central part, with the total length of the bridge: approximately 1,200 m. This structure is 24 meters wide, divided into two directions of traffic, with a total of six lanes. It also has lanes on the sides for pedestrians and cyclists.
The arches of this bridge, which support the deck, have a about 60 meters high.
This bridge was inaugurated in December 2002 and cost approximately 57 million dollars. The Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge is also known as the President JK Bridge.
Architect Alexandre Chan and structural engineer Mário Vila Verde were involved in the design and construction of this bridge.
