The approved contracts pertain to the bid for the new Medina del Campo station and the supply and transport of rails and ballast for the Zamora-Pedralba section
First, the bid—totaling 6,231,481 euros with a five-month construction period—for the new high-speed rail station to be built in the municipality of Medina del Campo, in Valladolid, has been approved.
The project includes all work related to the construction of the new passenger terminal, the rail platform, and the platforms, as well as the development of the surrounding area. The design incorporates criteria of efficiency and sustainability, with functional facilities tailored to the needs of both the services and the passengers.
Supply and Transportation of Rail and Ballast
Adif Alta Velocidad has also approved the bid for the supply and transport of rail for the Zamora-Pedralba de la Pradería section, which is part of the Madrid-Galicia high-speed line within the North-Northwest Corridor.
The project involves rolling 8,900 metric tons of rail into 90-meter-long bars, transporting them to the welding plant and the storage yard located in the Zamoran municipality of La Hiniesta, or directly to the track site. The contract includes the electric welding required to form the 270-meter-long bars.
This contract also covers the rolling of 730 metric tons of various types of rail into 18-meter-long bars and their transportation for the construction of the track mounting base in La Hiniesta. The contract amount for this bid, which has a completion period of four months, is 9,425,696 euros.
Finally, Adif Alta Velocidad has approved the award of the contract for the supply and transport of ballast for the Zamora-Pedralba section. This contract includes the extraction of stone for the production of ballast, its temporary storage, and its transport to storage areas located along the route. The contract amount is 4,713,009 euros, and the project has a completion period of twelve months.
