Yesterday, the city council approved the Badajoz Sustainable Energy Action Plan, which outlines the EU-led measures to be implemented to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020.
According to the council member in charge of the area, Jesús Coslado, they expect to reach those dates having exceeded the target, as well as the projected investment, which is estimated at 72 million euros, of which 60 would come from grants and 12 from the city council’s own funds.
The plan is divided into initiatives related to energy efficiency, smart cities, and sustainable mobility.
